Pro Bono

Legal Aid is privileged to receive the volunteer services and financial contributions from members of the Orange County Bar Association and other attorneys practicing in Orange County. Attorneys help by handling individual cases, participating in projects and contributing financially to the program. View the official pro bono policy.

We have clients who need help in a variety of civil legal areas such as family, housing, consumer, immigration, expunction of records, and other areas. Each year, attorneys provide legal assistance to more than 2000 clients. If you are a member in good standing of The Florida Bar, you can help. Take Cases.

Attorneys can serve as a Guardian ad Litem for children in juvenile court. More than 1300 children receive services through the GAL Program. If you are a member in good standing of The Florida Bar, you can help. Be a Guardian ad Litem.

We also offer 9 projects that serve special client groups or needs. Attorneys help the homeless, teen parents, people diagnosed with HIV, alternative dispute resolution, Teen Court, Veterans, low-income taxpayers, and participated at a variety of community events. If you are a member in good standing of The Florida Bar, you can help. Participate in a Project.

We value the time attorneys donate as their most important contribution. If you are not able to contribute your time, you can make a donation of $350 or more. Contribute Financially. We are a 501(c) 3 organization and contributions are tax-deductible.

NOTE: The Legal Aid Society of the OCBA offers pro bono credit reciprocity with civil legal aid organizations outside of Orange County.

Formal pro bono work that OCBA attorneys provide in the current calendar year to 501c3 civil legal aids in neighboring counties, including Seminole County Bar Association Legal Aid Society, Brevard Legal Aid, and Heart of Florida Legal Aid Society, will count toward one’s annual Legal Aid Society of the OCBA pro bono obligation. Please contact us and we will verify your formal pro bono activity with the neighboring legal aid organization
