Most intake volunteers come one day a week for approximately three hours. We use volunteers in our main office in downtown Orlando, and in our outreach offices in Apopka, Winter Park, Winter Garden, East Orange, and Washington Shores. The times available for volunteering vary. No prior legal experience is necessary.
Volunteers assist us in interviewing, phone screening, clerical duties and/or community outreach events. However, volunteers primarily assist us in interviewing. We offer an orientation/overview meeting and training for all new volunteers. The amount of time and availability of the volunteer will determine the range of opportunities for the volunteer. Intake opportunities are during weekday business hours not to exceed 37.5 hours. Community Outreach events are usually one day a week for about 3 to 4 hours.
